Three wishes

While digging around in a cupboard the other day, I found an old lamp. It was dirty so I gave it a rub… and out popped a genie.

“I’m the Mage of Commerce”, he proclaimed, “and I’ll grant you three wishes!”

I thought about it for a moment.

“I wish there was a greater focus on quality. These days, everyone wants to do everything quickly, cheaply and with minimum effort. Companies aren’t getting the service or results they need or deserve.

“Secondly, I wish people were more polite. Sure, they’re busy and I might not be the most important person to them but not even acknowledging a call or email is rude.

“And whatever happened to loyalty and to keeping promises? I wish you could raise the levels of professionalism and integrity out there.”

“Hmmm”, the genie replied, stroking his long mystical beard. “I’m a powerful being but you’re asking me to change the whole landscape of business. Granting your wishes might be too difficult for even me… but I’ll see what I can do.”

It would be nice if he comes through, wouldn’t it?
